On to QUARTZITE

The first year I went to Indio I was told... after Indio we go to Quartzite. Went home and had rotator cuff surgery instead. Last year I made it to Quartzite for one night and then listened to stories of Quartzite, Palmer by the river and junkets to Yuma.
This year has been wonderful with roaring campfires and a FULL MOON. Quiet camping on a desert BLM site with good friends. What could be sweeter?
Days spent visiting and then going into Quartzite to look for bargains. You never know what you will find and if you see it you had better get it now.

INDIO RALLY January 12-16 2011

WHAT A GROUP!
With finesse and patience Carol, Terri and Jim parked about 65 roadtreks over a 3 day period. Maps were drawn, spaces marked, electric negotiated.... it was fun to watch from the registration table.
I made name placards for each RT and it was so nice to be able to find people easily.
Lots of newbies, great entertainment, ice cream socials. More later....

2011 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

1-1-11 Wow! My favorite way to start off a new year is to go to bed relatively early and get up in time to find a special spot to great the sun on the first day. Wish I was in Zion today!

Lake Cachuma isn't Zion but it was close and since there was a possibility of rain blotting out the sun completely today it seem like the perfect spot.

2010 was not a good year for blogging. It was a great year but I must have been blogged out from Alaska.
